What Apple actually announced on 9 September 2026
Three models were announced: the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max and the foldable iPhone Duo. Apple did not announce a base iPhone 18, so claims that "the whole 18 lineup is out" are not true.
The Pro and Pro Max have 6.3" and 6.9" Super Retina XDR displays with ProMotion up to 120 Hz, the A20 Pro chip, three 48MP rear cameras with a variable aperture on the main lens, and an 18MP front camera. Colours: burgundy red, glacier blue, silver and black. Capacities of 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB.
The iPhone Duo is a foldable phone with a 5.4" outer and 7.6" inner display, the A20 Pro chip, two 48MP cameras, a titanium body, side Touch ID, and eSIM only. Colours: sky white and dusk blue.

What you need to know in Czechia and the EU
Three things that weren't said loudly at the keynote but matter a lot for customers in Czechia.
- The new AI-powered Siri isn't in the EU at first: Apple states that the redesigned Siri with advanced AI features won't be available in the European Union at launch. It's not just a language issue — the feature won't work in the EU at all initially.
- Apple Reference Image in the EU launches without image capture: The new reference-image feature can't capture reference images in the EU at launch. We're not claiming all the new AI features will work in Czechia from day one.
- Video playback per Apple's Czech specs: 34 h (Pro) and 43 h (Pro Max): The Czech versions have nano-SIM + eSIM (or two eSIMs). Don't mistake the video playback figure for general all-day battery life.
What happens to the prices of older models
The most common mistake: people expect older models to drop by thousands of crowns overnight after the keynote.
Future price movement is not guaranteed, though. Apple usually removes the top models of the previous generation from its lineup once a new range is announced; for pre-owned phones, prices are set by the supply of specific units and their condition, so they change gradually and unpredictably.

Why a pre-owned iPhone makes sense even right after the keynote
You buy a pre-owned iPhone 17 or iPhone 16 Pro at a price that already reflects the model's age. The purchase price is therefore significantly lower than a new model at Apple's full price. How prices develop further can't be guaranteed.

How to decide in five minutes
Follow these steps and you'll have a clear answer.
1. Identify what actually bothers you about your current phone
Write down specific reasons: battery life, sluggishness, a cracked screen, missing features. If you can't fill anything in, you don't need an upgrade.
2. Check whether your model still gets updates
Open Settings → General → Software Update. A model that no longer supports the latest system version is a clear reason to switch.
3. Set your budget
Decide how much you want to spend before you look at the listings. That eliminates half the decision-making.
4. Compare generations within your budget
For the money a new 18 Pro would cost, you can get a pre-owned 17 Pro or 16 Pro Max and still have money left over. For most people that's the better choice.
5. Check the condition and warranty
Verify battery health, the phone's condition and the warranty length. With us you'll find all three details listed directly against the specific unit.
